Increase energy and reduce discomfort at work
Start moving more at work with what UC Berkeley researchers have called the world’s healthiest desks. Designed by a physiotherapist, Limber desks support movement throughout the workday and make it easy to change posture without interrupting focus.
The result is a more comfortable, more energised way to work at home or in the office.

Core Advantages
Move, way more
Limber desks support a wider variety of working and resting postures than traditional desks. By encouraging regular movement throughout the day, Limber helps reduce stiffness and supports energy and focus at work.
More movement, built into your workspace.
Stay in flow
Movement shouldn’t interrupt your work.
Limber desks adjust up to ten times faster than electric desks, making posture changes effortless. You don’t need to stop working or make a deliberate “healthy choice” just to move. Movement becomes natural and automatic.
Ergonomics, done properly
Every body is different.
Limber desks adjust precisely to your body, making it easy to set your screen and working height correctly whether you’re standing, kneeling, or sitting on the floor. No add-ons, no guesswork, no awkward compromises.

Why UC Berkeley Professors call Limber "the world's healthiest desks"
- More movement, by design. Limber created the world’s first floor-to-standing desk, founded by a physiotherapist to make movement part of the working day. With over ten postural options, Limber removes the barriers that keep people stuck in one position.
- Move without breaking focus. Limber desks adjust almost instantly, unlike motorised desks that interrupt attention and discourage movement. Changing posture feels seamless, not disruptive.
- Ergonomics, done properly. By supporting varied postures and precise adjustment, Limber helps people stay comfortable throughout the day while working at a desk.
Early research into movement-based desk design
Limber desks were designed around a simple idea: reduce prolonged static postures and make movement a natural part of desk-based work.
In a pilot laboratory study conducted at the University of California, Berkeley and published in the Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Conference (2025), participants completed computer-based tasks using an active work setup that combined floor-seated and standing work on a Limber desk, and a passive setup using a traditional chair-seated workstation.
Participants using the active setup reported approximately half the increase in musculoskeletal discomfort compared to chair-seated work, with no reduction in typing speed or accuracy. While results vary between individuals and the study was short in duration, the findings support Limber’s movement-first design philosophy.
